Renault Megane (02 - 09)

With this generation of Megane, Renault decided to ditch the somewhat bland looks of its predecessor and underwent some innovative changes, giving it a whole new and refreshing appearance. The eye-catching shape of the hatchback model in particular really gave the segment a much needed breath of fresh air and injected more competition into already hotly-contested market. Its odd outline even boasts more cabin space than before, while the interior is one of the best-built in class in terms of quality, comfort and standard kit. The seats are comfortable, there’s adequate leg and head room, and you can fit up to five people. To drive, it is just as you would expect from a Megane. The steering is assured and the car feels well planted on corners, the ride quality is smooth for the most part and there is very little road noise in the cabin. With a saloon, estate and MPV seven seater ‘Scenic’ version also available, this generation has a Megane to suit everyone.
