The Golf Plus was designed to give more space within the overall frame of the Golf look. It’s slightly bigger than the standard Golf, yet slightly smaller than the estate version. In terms of looks, it doesn’t differ too much from the standard hatch, except some tweaks to the grille and tailgate. It carries some of the same characteristics as the previous model (spaciousness and versatility), with higher levels of comfort, lower running costs, and plenty of safety features etc. The cabin is that bit roomier, there is plenty of comfort and the centre console is well designed and laid out. On the road you can definitely feel some differences; the gear shift is smooth, the handling is good, the steering feels fine, and the ride is supple. There is a fine range of engines and they are all better on fuel economy and emissions.

•  There is a lot of standard equipment and safety features

•  The seating system is versatile, allowing bigger load space if necessary

•  It’s an easy car to drive and is also great fun

•  You could say that it’s more of a facelift of the standard rather than an all-new model.
